I thought “What a Wonderful idea”… Let’s go on a Virtual Treasure Hunt through Lent. This will be Week 1. I invite you to join in.
We have entered the season of Lent and for the next 40 days we will journey with Jesus and ponder who we are and who we are called to be. This morning I read a note from the Minister of Youth and Young Adult ministries for our region and she invited us on a virtual treasure hunt during this Lenten time. I thought
“What a wonderful idea” .
So I decided that that is what my weekly emails will be about starting with today. I invite you to take a moment, head outside or look around your house and find ashes or something that is black or grey in colour.
Ask yourself the question “Where do I see divine in this?” Take some time to reflect on that. If you want to, take a picture of it and send it along to me and if you are comfortable take a moment to share with me some of your thoughts.
Each week we will have a new thing to find, always asking where is God/Divine/ spirit in this?
Here is My Picture for this week
The church was quiet, waiting
The pipes were coloured red
and the space was filled with peace
free from fear and fight
An invitation had been sent
that all might “ Come and See”
Spend some time with Jesus
and pray for clearer sight
The ashes mixed with oil
and a single candle flame
Remind us of connection
to our source of light
And so we walk with Jesus
listen as he speaks
We become his hands and feet
filled with blessings on this night.
As we walk this road together it is my prayer that each of you will be open to spirit and be reminded of divine reality that is present in all we see and all we do. This is then our source of strength and hope . May it be so.
