For the Healing of the Nations

One of my favourite passages from Sacred story is found in the book of revelation chapter 22. As I reflected on these verses this is what I wrote:

There is a river crystal clear
Beside it grows a tree
It speaks of justice and of peace
A sign for all to see

For the healing of the nations
Its leaves are meant to be
Here, tears are dried and life restored
Tormented souls set free

Partners in a new creation
Brokenness is mended
Joining hands with our neighbours
Just as God intended.

May we find our way to this place where we are embraced in the wonder and grace of the Universe; where our beings are washed in the waters of life; and where we are united as partners in a new creation.
