The sun is shining and everything is blanketed in snow. There is something magical about the sun reflecting off the snow covered trees and crispness of the air. In a few short days we will be celebrating the birth of Jesus and a love that comes as a gift to all the world. We will listen again to the age old story that, like the snow covered scene before us this day, is filled with wonder and mystery and magic. In the shadow of this story and the amazing scene before me I cannot help but feel the beauty of the earth and be filled with joy!
The words of Keri K Wehlander jump out for me at this moment:
Intricate Wonders
To witness an ebony quilt of sky
stitched by beaming stars;
and awaken to ancient cedar’s sway
dancing with the wind,
is to glimpse God’s scattering of grace.To recognize an inner flutter and pulse
as new life’s movement in the womb;
or hear a tone so sweetly sung
that heaven opens within,
is to stand at the threshold of everything holyTo wonder at the sweep of a whale
breaching the air from concealed depths;
or gaze at the ripples and curves formed above
by a cloud of wings on the move,
is to be breathless with praise for the radiance of life.
My Prayer For You
It is my prayer
… that
in the midst of the hustle and bustle;
in the midst of those moments of difficulty and sorrow;
in the midst of your wandering through this seasonyou might be open to the beauty that surrounds and the earth that cradles you in love and possibility.
Blessings
Valerie
