Take time to smell the roses, to see the beauty that surrounds and allow the winds of spirit to soothe your soul.
When I arrived here in Truro 10 years ago a friend of mine planted a small rose bush in my garden. It was no more than 2 feet high at the time of planting. In the time since then it has grown up and out and climbs the side of my shed. Every year new branches grow and new blooms appear. As I watch it every spring return to life and eventually blossom I am reminded of those who have shared the journey with me and my community that keeps on growing.
I give thanks for each of you
Yesterday, as the sun broke through the clouds and the skies cleared up I sat on my back deck for a bit enjoying a cup of coffee and my eyes rested on this rose bush. My mind wandered to the people who have shared my journey and whose gift of love has shaped my being. You, who read this, are among them.
Then I began to think about this past year and a half and the twists and turns that life has brought all of us. It has not been easy and there have been and still are thorns but there have also been many blossoms that have come to life!
I give thanks for each of you and the wonder that you bring to my life. I am blessed by your comfort and care; by your challenge and empowerment.
Take Time to Smell the Roses
In these summer months may you take the time to smell the roses, to see the beauty that surrounds and allow the winds of spirit to soothe your soul.
Blessings
