An adventure, the pumpkin people, and a turkey dinner brings the majesty of the world alive as we were treated to the song of the creator and the created
On Monday we woke up to the sun shining and there was something calling us to head out on an adventure. We called our travelling buddies and together we set out. The road took us through Maitland and Noel and then through Stanley toward Windsor, with the final destination being Kentville and the pumpkin people.
The Pumpkin People and Majesty
The road through Stanley was stunning as we were surrounded by the brilliant colours of creation and the path before us seemed to be singing a song of praise! Along the way we were gifted with the surprise of a giant yard sale and, of course, we stopped. We each left with a few treasures, things that can only be found in a place like this! We picked up more companions in Windsor and made our way to the apple orchards where we picked delicious apples and filled our bags to overflowing. The final stop on the journey was a tour through Kentville to see the fabulous community creations featuring the pumpkin people, then back home for a final turkey dinner and laughter around the table.
This was a day filled with spirit as we were treated to the song of the creator and the created. It was a reminder for me of holy mystery, of community and love, of possibility and promise. From Soul Songs by Valerie Peyton Kingsbury:
The Majesty of the World
How majestic is the world in which I live!
The creatures of the earth unite
to sing a melody of praise.
Holy mystery resounds with every note.
I look skyward – I see the sun and moon
I look around – I see the wonder of the world
The vastness of creation – I can scarcely comprehend
Who am I in the midst of this?
Created in Divine image
this wonder has been entrusted to me
to tend and care for
to nurture
to love.
How majestic is the world in which I live!
May you see the promise of new life and hope revealed in creation; may you hear the divine melody sung by the creatures of the land; and may you know a moment of peace in your journey.
Blessings
Valerie

Soul Songs, A Reflection on the Psalms
Soul Songs is a book of morning meditations! It is an easy read and I hope for you as much as it was for me, it will be an inspiration. Inspired by the Psalms, I wrote these morning meditations the summer of 2018. Each day I sat with the sun rising over my beloved river, surrounded by the wonder of creation and the psalms open before me. Here I was transported to a place of deep connection with the energy of the universe. As is often my reality, when I enter this place of holy mystery I am compelled to take pen in hand and the images translate into words, In the pages that follow I share with you the result of my journey.
