Music can transport you to places of wonder, renewal, and pure joy. Take some time to stop and listen and allow this “ language of the spirit” to bring peace to your soul.
“Where words fail, music speaks.” — Hans Christian Andersen
“Music, once admitted to the soul, becomes a sort of spirit, and never dies.” ― Edward Bulwer Lytton
“Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.” ― Confucius
“Music is the universal language of mankind.” ― Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
“Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife.” — Kahlil Gibran
On Saturday, with the temperatures dipping well below what we have become accustomed to, many brave souls made their way to First United. The return of “Choirs For Comfort” saw the combining of great talent and warmth for the soul. As people of all ages sang, those of us in the congregation were transported to places of wonder, renewal, and pure joy.
Music comes to us on the journey in many different forms. Sometimes it is in voices and instruments combining to paint word pictures that offer moments of comfort, love, joy or even pause for reflection. Music is also all around us in the voice of the universe as the wind whistles, the birds chirp, the streams babble and the flowers bloom.
Take some time to stop and listen and allow this “ language of the spirit” to bring peace to your soul.
Blessings
