This morning as I poured my coffee there was a fog resting over everything as the night air gave way to the rising sun. In the quiet and stillness of this moment I took time to breathe deeply and center myself for the day ahead. I opened my book of writings and it rested on a piece I wrote 10 years ago.

The lake, smooth as glass
The mist hovers mysteriously
The sun breaks through
shimmering and dancing
in the early morning hours
The stillness whispers
of what the day might hold
hidden promises, waiting
possibilities to be discovered
as each moment passes.
A soft wind blows
the wind waves goodbye
with clearer sight
the day opens up.
A journey begins.
